Need ideas to decorate a high ceiling bedroom, neutral/hardwearing?

i need ideas to decorate a high ceiling bedroom the ceiling height is about 9 feet high, so dont know wether to skim walls paper them, flowers, stripes etc and i need it to be neutral and hardwearing or low maintenance. any ideas welcome, thanks

If you want to scale down the height of the room you can put a molding around the room about 2 feet below the ceiling and paint anything above that area to match the ceiling like a very light sky blue or whatever color you choose and paint the lower part your chosen color or even paper it. If you are trying to make it look cozier and want to paper it ,I would stay away from stripes and go with a floral.Use a satin or semi-gloss latex paint or a good grade of vinyl wallpaper. Both can be washed easily. You could also put up beadboard and a chair rail to bring the eye down. They have that in a vinyl coating also,so there is no painting.
Reply:To draw the eye up as well as "Cozy" up the place, you can add trim molding around the top of the walls. It comes in many different sizes and price ranges as well as different styles ranging from simple and contemporary to ornate and traditional. If you want to magnify the height of the ceiling use stripes.
