I am needing to make huge flowers and butterflies for a project that I am doing. Does anyone have any ideas?
How do you make REALLY big paper/cloth daisies for room decor?
If you dont want to do to much work, buy big pieces of paper or fabric (from a craft store) and cut them out and staple them to the wall. Or if you want to make a big project out of it make very thin pillows out of it like the other person said. If you use fabric get fray-ezz from the craft store and you wont have to sew at all! I made stars on my wall out of fabric and they look good.
Reply:My daughter did this project at school, and it was so cute, it is hanging on her wall now. you take wax paper and cut it out into the design that you want. you will need two of them, in the exact same shape. then get crayons, the colors of your choice and sharpen them with a pencil sharpener ( one of those little hand held ones) take a piece of foil and lay it on a hard surface, that heat wont damage. place one of the wax paper cut outs and place it on the foil. sprinkle your crayon shavings on it. place the other cutout on top. Put another piece of foil on top then iron until the crayon shavings are melted. It makes it real bright and some of the colors swirl together. it looks cute. YOu could even glue some glitter or something around the edge for a cute border.
Reply:I know this doesn't tell you how to make it, but I just had to tell you, when my daughter was into daisies I found some big, bright daisy lawn ornaments... they were made to put out on your lawn, and they'd spin in the breeze, but they were so adorable on her walls!!! And inexpensive, too.
But if I were going to make them, though, I would buy different colors of fabric and make thin pillows, a circle for the center and kind of 3/4 circles for the petals, sew hooks on the back and just hang the pieces directly on the walls. Of course green for the stems and leaves. Have fun!
