Do you think the day will come in UK when Nanny PC orders us not to grow roses?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_...

QUOTE " Religious police in Saudi Arabia are banning the sale of Valentine's Day gifts including red roses, a local newspaper has reported. The Saudi Gazette quoted shop workers as saying that officials had warned them to remove all red items including flowers and wrapping paper...."UNQUOTE

Now, first and foremost, I MEAN NO OFFENCE TO the Islamic Faith. My question is NOT directed at the Islamic Faith.

Moving on TO my question.. and I think you know where I'm going with this ppl...Can a rose be seen as a symbol of a religious faith and when will Nanny PC flip?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jht... - "Sikh bracelets, but no Christian rings at school bans pupils from wearing 'purity rings'

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/artic... - "Now a school bans 13-year-old from wearing crucifix .." etc

Do you think the day will come in UK when Nanny PC orders us not to grow roses?
It does border upon the unfair and unjust. Some schools view the wearing of any jewellery as frivolous and a slight danger, ie bracelets and neck chains getting caught on chair and causing injury incurring law suit actions costing said school millions in payout.

The indulgence of cultural idiosyncrasies, is born more of the great gains and profiting said government of cuntry in question than an indulgent or pandering attitude per se.

I do not watch comedy. If I am needful of a good sound laugh, I read current affairs and politics. I laugh so much ... .. .
Reply:Yup.
Reply:Saudis need to get a life.
Reply:The purity ring is not the same as the sikh bracelet. The sikh bracelet has been part of the culture and religion for much longer. The purity ring was invented by a certain group of American Christians and is not an essential relgious or cultural symbol. It was probably invented to make money and became popular after Britney Spears made it fashionable. See the difference?
Reply:Sure am glad I don't live in the UK, or any other Muslim country.
