Could I be gay? PLEASE HELP!?

32 year old lawyer here. I'm fairly good looking (or so I've been told). I haven't had a seriously girlfiend ever (although I have dated casually before). I really don't know why no woman has held my interest for more than a day . . . or why I just seem to lack the desire to devote a lot of energy into chasing a little "hhhrruummp hhhrrrump" . . . Anyway, most of my friends are married and when I compare myself to them, I just seem so different.





First off, I LOVE TO SHOP . . . for ANYTHING. Sometimes "skinny jeans" othertimes flowers, wrapping paper, or marzapan candies, etc. I just love shopping. And giving gifts to friends!





I'm also sensitive and I cry a lot . . . at movies (like the Karate Kid) or just when someone tells me something sad (like they are unhappy with the way their new wallpaper looks, etc).





I never thought of myself as gay, and have never "made it" with a boy.





Should I just go for it with a boy and see how I feel afterwards?

You have a strong feminine side to your personality. Some use the term "metrosexual". Just because you like to shop and are sensitive does not make you gay. See a therapist before you do something that you'll regret.

Reply:People hav different type of behavior or tastes. Some men like shopping while others do not, as well as beeing emotional but boys do not show it. I think that you are more open to feelings. As for homosexuality, you must ask yourself if you attracted to men. This sounds crazy but lol did you ever find that any male actors are sexy? This can give you a hint.

Anyway, that as far as your question goes, just because you like to shop, are sensative and other things usually considered "feminime", that does NOT mean you're gay. It means you're different. And I respect difference.





You may not have ever had a serious girlfriend because you never found someone you liked enough to be serious with. But I really think if you want, you should go with a guy and see how you feel, but don't worry if that doesn't seem to suit your fancy either. You may be "asexual" where basically you don't like either, which is okay, too. We're all different, and that might just be how you are.





I think that you should do what you feel is right, and I hope everything goes well for you. =) And again, ignore those who don't like you because you're different, but I think difference is the best. =) And I admire and respect your honesty.

I Understand what you mean with the energy thing sometimes its a pain in the butt and you just feel lazy. If you dont need the hrrrummp hhrrrummp why chase after it. You could be gay, hell we all could be gay. Its much more about meeting someone and realizing that you could have feelings with them than chasing the hrrummp hrump. If you really want to be in a relationship and you think you could be with a guy then try it out but if it disquests you your not gay. If you think you could be with a man and love them then maybe you are. Really it doesnt matter you just have to do what feels right and dont worry about the label. If you are meant to be with a chick you will end up with a chick if you are meant to be with a dude youw ill end up with a dude. Just do what feels right.

Reply:only you would know if you are gay. Personally I know im not becuase when thinking about men I don't get that same "tingly" feeling I get while thinking about women. You suggested in your comments that you are thinking of "making" it with a guy. If that is in your thoughts, then you just might be. All the other stuff you mentioned is realy irrevalent. Just because you like to shop and get teary eyed during movies does not mean your gay. Do some soul searching.... its possible you just haven't met the "lid" for your cover.

Reply:well...i dunno my ex kinda was like u i think he took me shopping instead of me taking him...and he was a real help he had a great fashion style and was good in almost everything.. and about the gifts part, both me and him were crazy about receiving gifts and we liked giving them too cause we spoiled each other... then he switched countries and it just didnt work anymore:D.....t i think u could be gay...or maybe not.... try asking urself if a guy atraccts u more than a girl...i dont think u should get involved with a man just because u havent found the right girl 4u, i mean more than sex and looks. and gay men dont allways cry a lot more or are much more sensitive, people just generalise facts. ps i like that u r a lawyer cause thats what i wanna be. hope i helped :)
