Can I have help editing my english paper?

Semonides, it appears to be speaking about the many different stages of life, or directly relating to the title, how short and precious life is. Semonides happened to be a blind poet and writer who lived in the time of ancient Greece. He had many satirical poems about the various things he witnessed in everyday life. This poem was not one of his famous satires, but was a more serious statement about the facts of life. “The Brevity of Life” has much more meaning than you would think if you look deeper between the lines.

Semonides beautifully compared a colorful, growing flower to the short life that we have. “The lovely flower of youth grows tall with color.” He seems to long for the days when he was young, carefree, and death was the last thing that was set on his mind. I know little about this poet, but I am guessing that he may very well have been dying when he wrote this poem

this isn't the whole essay, but please tell me if i can improve anwhere :)

In his poem “The Brevity of Life," Semonides, a blind poet and writer who lived in ancient Greece, appears to be speaking about the many different stages of life or, directly relating to the title, how short and precious life is. He wrote many satirical poems about the many things he witnessed in everyday life. The poem in question is not one of his famous satires, but a more serious statement about the facts of life.

“The Brevity of Life” has much more meaning than is immediate obvious to the reader. Semonides beautifully compares a colorful, growing flower to the short life that we have. “The lovely flower of youth grows tall with color.” He seems to long for the days when he was young and carefree, and when death was the last thing on his mind. He may very well have been dying when he wrote this poem.
