How to press a flower?

I have a homemade flower press, but I have never used it. What is the place position to place the flower? Should I open it or press it on the side. If it helps, it is a stargazer lilly. Also, should I place parchment or wax paper down? Thank you

How to press a flower?
After picking your favorite flowers, put them in the refrigerator to keep them from wilting...place the flowers on the inside fold of the sheet of newspaper, make sure there is no overlapping of leaves, petals, or stems, (doesn't matter what position they are in) fold the top half of the newspaper sheet down over the flowers, place in flower press...the drying process takes about 3 days, once the flowers are pressed and dry you can use them in arrangements, art work, as gifts, etc.
