Has anyone ever done note cards on textured paper ?

there is a way to pound flowers etc onto textured paper but i am not sure what all is involved with this technique.

Has anyone ever done note cards on textured paper ?
I make my own paper and you can too...with press flowers Incorporated. Pick the flowers when the look their best and press them between watercolor paper and a ton of books or in a flower press if you have one. Then use a blender to whip up a batch of paper pulp. Using a screen pull up a thin sheet of paper pulp and press the pressed flowers gently on top of the pulp. Invert the sheet over a stack of paper towels and gently peel the newly made paper off of the screen. Add more paper toweling on top and press gently to get the last of the water out. Set the new paper aside to dry.





Pounding flowers sounds a little rough...Flattened flowers can be glued with spray adhesive on to paper. Or individual petals can be incorporated into the pulp in making paper.

Reply:flowers on textured paper can be really pretty! I suggest you do a sample until you decide what looks best, and then give it a go! good luck. I'm sure your project will turn out great.

Reply:why don't you type "paper making" or "handmade paper" into your search engine %26amp; maybe you will get some techniques through that.
Reply:Yes, you can pound flowers on textured paper which is different than adding them to handmade paper. You need to use a flower with a stonger color and it should contrast with the paper that you are using. It will only leave an impression of color of the flower, not "sink" into the paper and therefore become part of it.





Just use a paper towel over the flower to help control the mashing process.
