Why do almost all paper towels have ladybugs or flowers printed on them? And why are they so 50's looking?

I buy blank ones but youd think they could update the looks a little, from the tacky Holly Hobby designs.

I agree, it's pretty annoying. I buy white and it's *only* because the designs are so archaic. Every once in awhile I'll see a cool design but they are picked over rather quickly. I think I'd like to see some wild polka dots or "have a nice day" smiley or something. Even some hamburgers and hotdogs in the summer would be cool...
Reply:they had cool snoopy ones at christmastime.

but my mom almost alway gets the plain white ones because she puts them overtop fo food in the microwave and she doesn't want dye getting into our food from the papertowels.
Reply:i like the ones with flowers or cats on them...lol
Reply:If you use them in the microwave, all white is healthier for you. But I agree with your assessment of the designs.
Reply:Because that's what people wants and buy the most.
Reply:Because even in this day and age, women are more likely to be doing the shopping.

I personally wouldn't mind a '70s muscle car design or perhaps a firearms of the old west motif.

Regards!
