Harry Potter ideas?!?!?

What are some activities that i could do for a harry potter release party based on the classes?

ie Herbology would be making tissue paper flowers, divination would be "reading" tea leaves.

HELP!!!!

Harry Potter ideas?!?!?
for horcruxes, every one sould but their "soul" into a little envelope. The "soul" should be a secret or fact about themselves that no one else at the party knows. Everyone puts it into a box and later in the party, the hostess takes each one, reads them aloud, everyone guesses whose it is. just an idea!
Reply:How about the potion class, u could buy a cheap beaker, fill it with colored water, and put some dry ice in it to make it steam. you could also put brooms around the room. I am not joking
Reply:If this party is for adults, you could set up a bar (alcohol) for a Potions class.

Regardless of the age group, you could go to your local bookstore and pickup a couple of books on Wicca and browse for some benign spells, brews, etc. and use them.
Reply:for divination you could go to a book store/library and get a couple of those future and horoscope books and have them read how to do one kind of reading and have them do that.

This doesn't have to do with the classes but you could have them go to Diagon Alley :P.........they can make wands by painting a stick and putting some ribbons on and they can even decorate a wizarding hat and a robe with paint! You can probably get all of these things at any art shop!

What's the greatest gift you have ever given?

I used to make things for my Mum and Dad when I was at school, countless ashtrays, (They didn't even smoke), and paper flowers, stuff like that... Every time I'd present them with one of my creations they made me feel like these were greatest gift ever.

What made your greatest gifts... great?

What's the greatest gift you have ever given?
The greatest gift you can give to some one is your TIME...

because in this form your are giving some part of your life which never comes back... so be there with the one who needs you...
Reply:Stillness. A way to be Still.

This is the greatest gift because it opens up the immortal life that is hidden behind this temporal existence.
Reply:giving my husband his daughter, so I say the gift of life!
Reply:I gif Beggar £20 once, fore Cartier watch worth £1500.
Reply:A dead bird. I'm a dog, so for us, that's something special.
Reply:A wife and BABY

My teacher said to plan a child family event and do a outline and present it to the clas do you think this is?

I would let the children help decorate the classroom with their art work.

Also let them make the invitations using their hand prints, made in art.

I would also have the children work in my classroom so the parents can see what the children have been doing all week.

MY INVITATION

You are invited to our Art show

Date:

Time:

Place:

refreshments/door prizes

the door prizes can be some of the children's art work framed.

I will have the children make all the decoration. They make tissue paper flowers for the vases. We also will make napkin ring holders. The children will do a presentation of their favorite songs, finger plays etc. They will get to bring their parent to the centers and share their favorite activity with their parent. We play games that we learn in class like memory games. I will video tape the children preparing a snack for their parents. The children take their parent to the table and everyone eats together as one big family. We reassemble in front of the TV and I play the video of their child preparing for the big parent meeting. the importance of putting children in the car seat, potty training info. etc. The children make thank you cards for their parents and draw a picture and I dictate what the children tell me on their picture and send it home with the parents. I also include a survey evaluating our care and ask for suggestions on how we could improve or what other things parents might want us to offer. For the meal I will have pizza and soda .

BRAVO! Your teacher should be very pleased with your outline. You have covered all the bases here, and I particularly love the thank you cards...(I assume for after the event to thank their parents for coming?) teaches social manners...something that is lacking in society today.

Keep up the great work, you will make a great and fun teacher!!! :)
Reply:Great! You are very creative and sound like a great parent

You ever dream about something then wake up and look it up on the internet?

-I dreamt about a little girl on a street corner calling out 'Paper Flowers! Peppermint Pigs 3 for a dollar!' I woke up and lo and behold, Peppermint Pigs exist! It's certainly possible that I somehow came across peppermint pigs on the web sometime in the past but I certainly don't remember it. I guess pretty much any random assembly of words is bound to show up at some point, but it really floored me. Any similar experiences?

You ever dream about something then wake up and look it up on the internet?
Yea it happens a lot in my case .... once(Sept 10) i was dreaming about a plane hitting a building and the next day voila .... 9-11 happenned :P ha ha ha ha ha

Ok jokes apart...it happens cos you always dream about things you see somewhere and its always recorded in your brain even if you are not aware of it. So dont think you invented something in your dreams lol
Reply:Well I always keep it real. Now years ago Before the Web.I had the same dream every night for seven(7)days.Keep in mind your conscience has to be heard one way are another,Anyway I was torn trying to decide what to do about a situation,Bottom line was If I chose this action on the left then what i dreamed would happen,If I chose this action on the right I would be alright,Well I chose the left side and what I had dreamed 6 -six months before happened just like I dream edit. So For what ever reason u were suppose to go to that web site,And evidently your dream was a way of getting that info to u. I hope this helps

Harry Potter Party?

Does anyone have activity ideas for a Harry Potter book 7 release party?

We are, of course, dressing up, having a feast, and playing a "find the golden snitches (aka, decorated easter eggs)" quidditch game. What i want is ideas to use based on classes:

Like, for divination, we are going to read tea leaves and play magic eight ball. For Herbology we are going to make tissue paper flowers. For muggle studies, we'll watch the movies. What else can we do as activities? HELP!

Harry Potter Party?
My daughter says she knows a way of actually playing Quidditch. Before the game, you paint a superball gold and attach paper wings. You hide it before the party in your backyard or wherever you are playing. Also use hula hoops taped securely to sticks as your goal hoops, three on each end of your playing pitch. You will need a swimming noodle for every player, two soft Nerf balls for Bludgers, and a red playground ball for the Quaffle.

Next, get organized for the game. You sort everyone onto two teams. You choose two people on each team to be Beaters who throw the Bludgers at players on the other team. If a Beater hits a player with a Bludger that player has to stand frozen for ten seconds. One player on each team is the Seeker whose job is to find the Snitch, of course. One player on each team is the Keeper, guarding the goals. All the other players are Chasers. The Chasers try to throw the Quaffle (playground ball) through the hoops. Everyone has to "ride" their swimming noodles like broomsticks.

Scoring: Whichever Seeker finds the Snitch first wins 150 points for their team. Each goal is worth 10 points.
Reply:For potions you can make milkshakes

For Care of magical creatures you can play pin the tail on the hippogrif

For flying classes you can get two brooms. Then have a relay race.

You'll have to run with the broom between your legs and hold the broom with both hands. Should be funny to watch for the people waiting for the broom.

Help..mothers day..URGENT!?
Last year my sister and i made things.

What my sister did was get a box and cute up pieces of paper.

On every piece of paper my sister wrote one word, the words were what my mum had taught her. EG Love.Forgivness.Reading

Mum absolutely loved it and loved the fact that she had taught my sister all of those things.

I made hand made vouchers! Mum loved them and it gave her some free time!

You could also make a collage of photos-i know all mums love photos!

I hope the ideas helped and all the best!
Reply:Cook for her make something that she enjoy eat !
Reply:How about cooking Sunday dinner. Moms don't always look for paid for items. We just want to know we are loved by our children. Cook her favorite food and pick up her favorite movie from blockbuster's and have a dinner and a movie night.

Opinions on my poem?

It lacks a name right now, but here it is.

The emerald grass

Hangs on the ceiling

I sit with crossed legs

My feet losing feeling

Head tilted back

And thoughts focused up

Change took me by force

So strange and abrupt

I see the same things

I remain the same age

But my clothing is different

And my boots have changed

Crepe paper flowers

Float in the air

Suspended and dizzy

They don't belong there

Unseen and unheard

I slip out the door

To search for the place

I resided before.

It's very good! Some issues:

There's a few meter problems. You probably know where they are, and it's up to you to resolve them, but here's an example:

Change took me by force

You probably want to emphasize the word "change" here; it's essential, and "took," where the emphasis currently occurs, is not as important.

Also, work on your tense. Make it all present.

LEEEETLE things, though. I like it.
Reply:Brutally honest, eh? Nice poem. Good meter, good sense of rhyme, interesting images, great furtherance of imagination. Hope that was brutal enough.
Reply:GOOD

- an essence of days gone by

- time passes but inside we remain the same

- till the "rubber band" snaps

- and we return from whence we came
Reply:I think its very good actually:-)
Reply:The only line I stumbled on was the "boots." Overall, this is good. A vaporous image of a strange place. Well done. TD
