I know that marthastewart.com has explanations of how to do it. Also in the latest Matha's Weddings (or wedding flowers? I can't remember the name) magazine there is an explanation and pictures on how to do it. I know it's in the latest one because I looked at it in a Michaels store on the magazine rack towards the front of the store. Hope this helps, and have an excellent day!

Where can I get flowers made of paper for a first wedding anniversary?
draw some....it'll be special. Tulips would be good to keep it kind of simple to cut out. You could ball the tissue up.
Reply:I think that twisting the paper turns out very cute but tried this with preschoolers once before and some just didnt have the coordination to do so. So, if I were you I would just show them how to twist it but let them decide how they want to do it.
Reply:You should give the children the choice to do whatever they want with the tissue paper, so provide tissue sizes to suit twisting, scrunching or laying flat. Children should tear their own pieces not have you do it for them. Would be good if you could also provide stencils of several different flower shapes so that they can choose the shape they prefer too, and then draw around the stencil. They will get some pencil control from the activity as well as more choice. Craft should show imagination and creativity - there is none for the child if you make all the decisions for them.
Reply:Daffodils would be bright and cheerful! I would show them how to do each process and let them choose how to glue them on...IE; twist, cut or tear or even decoupage. You're sure to have a beautiful bulletin board! : )
Reply:Just search cartoon flowers, then choose one that takes up a full page and has not too much design so they can put the tissue paper where wanted.
Reply:use a large daisy so they have plenty of room to create.

We have done twisting and we have also done putting the tissue paper on the end of your finger or pencil to make it stick up like 3D - they are both effective and cute.
Reply:I would use any flower or even let the children draw their own or trace it. Then I would sit at a table and have a few come at a time. Making my own tissue paper and having plenty of it for the children to tear to put on their flower. Talk about different ways to put the tissue on: flat, on top of pencil, twist it etc. Then do all the different ones on your flower so the children can see it doesn't matter, they can choose one style or several. Remember it is the process not the product. They are developing motor skills, sensory, and creativity. They are most proud of what they do!
Reply:What age are you working with? Remember with preschoolers...the process is more important than the product. More often than not...just putting the materials out is the best way to go. Let the children decide how it should be done.

A generic flower works well for this type of activity. Circle in the center and large petals around the outside. I suggest using qtips for glue or tap 'n' glue containers so that there isn't an accessive amount of glue...it will make the colors run. Tissue paper shouldn't be larger than an 1" square, especially for young children. Twisting the paper doesn't work well for young children but squishing it works okay. Again...it sounds like something the children can decide how to do...whether they want to glue the center or glue the pieces...young children work better with spreading the glue in the center first. Good luck!
Reply:Ideally the children should be involved in the production of the template or print: theres opportunity to name its parts they're functions, and show how they make up the whole flower. Never to early for science!Show the children how to use a ruler to rip strips of paper: young children appreciate learning new skills. At this point, invite the children's opinions on what to do next: opportunity to enrich their cognitive %26amp; language development. Remember, children's art is a gift from the child, their ideals are unique, their skill will grow with stimulating activities not REPRODUCING adult art.
Reply:you should use a sunflower because its easier and more pretty. preschoolers would love twisting the paper because its more fun and it will give them some happiness. i recommend this!

VERNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10187782697023488980noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-577927425064030600.post-45994599236146850232011-11-18T02:53:00.001-08:002011-11-18T02:53:17.009-08:00Need help finding a flower site.?I need some websites that have single stem flowers for sale. Thanks?lei (nā lei is the plural in the Hawaiian language) may be composed of a pattern or series of just about anything, but most commonly consists of fresh natural foliage such as flowers, vines, or fern fronds. Among the flowers used are the plumeria, lehua blossom or the orchid, though maile leaves are extremely popular as well as traditional among hula dancers. Other types of lei may include sea or land shells, feathers, plastic flowers, fabric, paper (including origami and monetary bills), candy, words (as in a song), or anything that can be strung together in a series or pattern and worn as a wreath or a necklace.

Any one know where to get a Lei (hawaiian flower ring) in Singapore? They probably have a nice network of artists behind the scenes there.
Reply:maybe you can try check out any florist if the flower is available, alternatively, you can try search online, go to 88db website and look for the flower that you're looking for, or any florist selling the flower...hope this helps

VERNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10187782697023488980noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-577927425064030600.post-40269780360359697632011-11-18T02:50:00.001-08:002011-11-18T02:50:21.611-08:00Is the 4th wedding anniversary gift flowers/fruit or linen/paper?I've read on some things that it's flowers and fruit, but other sources say it's linen and paper... Over my mirror is flowered wall paper. What colors can I use?I'm not looking to change my the color of the tub or anything else. I just need to know what colors will go good with lightish pink. I need to change that wall paper and accesorize. I've used Burgundy in the past but I'm tired of looking at that color. I am going to redo my tile on the floor so suggestions will be nice. Thanks

My bathrm is a lightish pink, toliet, sink, tub. Good luck on the redecorating!!!!
Reply:I know this might sound weird but light green (not neon green) works really well. And if you are looking to turn down the pink a little, use light green toliet covers to cover the lid and the back part. (unless the whole entire toliet is pink, and not just the lid, otherwise just do without the covers for the toliet because it will look crazy). Just use light green accessories like floor mats towels, and shower curtain. Just little things like soap holders and things. If you use it on the walls to it will tune down the pink and will look fresh like spring time. Good luck!
Reply:white tile goes with every thing, you can't go wrong if you prefer you can use pink grout to match the tub and toilet.
Reply:How about a light green for the walls and slate gray for the tiles? For accessories, add some fish to the walls and shell shaped soap dishes and toothbrush holders. I've done this with my bathroom and everyone loves it. I also hand painted seaweed growing up the walls and the ceiling is sky blue with fluffy white clouds. The fish I added to the walls were magnets in shapes of different fish that I picked up at the dollar store. I used 2 sided tape to stick them to the walls.
Reply:to make the pink really POP try shades of gray as dark or as light as you prefer..also a little bit of black like in a wrought iron candleholder really sets off any pink..tile could be soft creams or grays with a speckled finsh that had pink shades..
Reply:that pink is pretty nasty. the best way to tone it down and make it look a little more sophisticated is with grey. try a checkerbord of tiles for the floor using 2 shades of grey. paint the walls using the lighter of the 2 shades from the floor tile. use black for small accessories like soapdish, tumbler, toothbrush holder, etc. pewter or brushed aluminum would be good for light fixture and towel bars and t.p. holder and light switch/outlet plates.
Reply:i like the soft light pink with a slate gray, using brass color accents. maybe a deep hunter green.

if you use the gray, for the floor tiles, first, it would be more neutral, and easier to work with if you ever do want to change the color of the fixtures, if you have a ceramic tile master, like i did, my brother, he actually can incorporate a few light pink tiles into the pattern to blend this all together..

good luck
Reply:light lime green goes well with pink. it's fresh and soothing. that would be my suggestion with white towels and white and dark green (like a plant) accessories
Reply:I would go with adding black and white for an art deco feel. I would use the same kind of floor tile that's in the picture, paint walls white and add black rugs and accessories.

shell necklaceVERNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10187782697023488980noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-577927425064030600.post-17486487220768904682011-11-18T02:49:00.002-08:002011-11-18T02:49:33.371-08:00Do u know name of this Flower?
